Mit dieser einfach zu bauenden DIY-Kletterwand für Katzen machst du es deinen Fellnasen so richtig gemütlich zuhause, denn darauf können sie jagen, spielen und sich ausruhen. Eben alles was ein Katzenherz begehrt.
Mein Mann und ich haben das große Glück, dass wir unser Zuhause mit 3 ganz tollen Katzen teilen können. (Wie sagt man doch so schön: Die Katzen suchen sich ihre Halter aus, nicht anders herum…) Da wir aber nicht auf dem Land leben, sondern im Gegenteil mitten im Zentrum Leipzigs, sind unsere 3 Schnurrer reine Wohnungskatzen. Das ändert aber rein gar nichts an den arttypischen Eigenschaften und Trieben, denn auch Wohnungskatzen brauchen Platz zum Jagen, Spielen, Krallenschärfen, Verstecken und Ausruhen.
Und wenn man ihnen diese Möglichkeiten ausreichend zur Verfügung stellt, dann danken sie es einem mit ganz viel Liebe und Zuneigung und außerdem lassen sie dann auch die Krallen vom Sofa.
Natürlich ist der Raum in einer Wohnung begrenzt und man kann nicht alle Flächen mit Kratzbäumen und Katzenbetten zustellen, aber man kann z.B. die Wände in den Räumen ebenfalls ausnutzen und dort tolle neue Spielflächen erschaffen, die dann von den Fellnasen erobert werden können. Und welche Katze schaut sich nicht gern die Welt von oben an?

Wie wir unsere DIY-Kletterwand für Katzen gebaut haben und was du dafür benötigst, verrate ich dir jetzt:
Du benötigst:
- 3 Weinkisten oder Obstkisten aus Holz
- 1 Brett als weitere Kratzmöglichkeit
- ca. 15 m Sisalseil
- Heißklebepistole
- Schraubhaken
- Katzenspielzeug und Kissen
- Winkel, Schrauben und Dübel zur Wandmontage
- passendes Werkzeug
Achtung: Bitte achte beim Bau immer darauf, dass das verwendete Werkzeug und die Kleinteile wie Schrauben und Haken nicht offen herumliegen, damit diese nicht zur Gefahr für deine Katzen werden können.
Und so baust du die DIY-Kletterwand für Katzen
Nimm zuerst deine Weinkisten genau unter die Lupe und schau, ob irgendwo Klammern oder Nägel rausstehen, an denen sich die Katzen verletzen könnten und entferne diese. Sehr raue Stellen kannst du mit etwas Schleifpapier oder einem Schleifgerät entfernen.
Auf einer Kiste bringst du nun eine Kratzfläche aus Sisal an. Klebe das Sisalseil eng mit Heißkleber um eine der Kistenlatten. Das geht am besten zu zweit. Auf die selbe Art kannst du aus dem Holzbrett ein Kratzbrett machen. Um ein Spielzeug in der Kiste aufhängen zu können, schraubst du einfach einen Haken mittig von Innen in die Oberseite der Kiste. Für noch mehr Spielspaß haben wir aus 2 ca. 250 cm langen Sisalseilen einen Zopf geflochten, der an der Unterseite der Kiste zum Spielen einladen soll. Dafür haben wir die beiden Seile so an die Kiste geknotet, dass wir dann mit insgesamt 4 Seilen einen Zopf flechten konnten. (Die Vierfach-Flechtung ist wirklich ganz einfach: Nimm immer den äußersten linken Strang und führe diesen über den 2. Stang, unter den 3. Strang und wieder über den 4. Strang)
Bei der 2. Kiste entfernst du vorsichtig mit einem Gummihammer die oberste Querlatte (wir haben diese dann für unsere 3. Kiste verwendet). Nun kannst du mit Kissen und/oder Decken einen gemütlichen Schlafplatz einrichten.
Die entfernte Querlatte haben wir einfach auf einer Seite von unserer 3. Kiste zwischen den beiden Streben mit Nägeln befestigt. Damit ergibt sich dort eine komplette Fläche, die zum Verweilen einlädt.
Nun musst du alles noch an der Wand fixieren. Hier geht natürlich Sicherheit vor. Achte also darauf, dass du für deine Wand die richtigen Schrauben, Winkel und Dübel verwendest.
Unsere Katzen haben uns schon während des Bauens beobachtet und auch schon das Spielzeug getestet. Als die Kletterwand dann an der Wand montiert war, haben sie diese auch gleich erkundet. Um es ihnen aber noch etwas leichter zu machen, haben wir ein bisschen Trockenfutter verteilt und dann waren sie auch nicht mehr zu halten.
